EMEA Compliance Officer (including UK SMF 16) (Hybrid Work Model) (80-100%)

We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to maintain a robust compliance framework and lead compliance activities in support of the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) business in EMEA with a specific focus on the United Kingdom, to ensure compliance with the applicable rules and regulations. This role will be the required Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Compliance Officer for our CorSo UK branch.

 

You will also engage in broader Compliance initiatives to broaden your development and impact across Swiss Re. 

 

About the Role

 

Specifically, you will:
•    Develop, maintain, and enhance the compliance framework which allows the business to comply with FCA and PRA requirements, including standards, processes, training and communication. 
•    Manage regulatory relationships and prepare and oversee regular and ad hoc regulatory reporting requirements for the UK.
•    Provide enabling guidance to the business on compliance requirements and implementation of the compliance framework to support regular business queriers as well as review and input on new initiatives (eg new products or distribution channels).
•    Oversee the implementation by the business and effectiveness of the compliance framework and provide assurance and regular reporting.
•    Monitor and act upon regulatory developments relating to compliance risks and the associated regulatory obligations.

 

About the Team

 

The CorSo Compliance team is a diverse and global team with team members in multiple jurisdictions across the globe. We are business facing team providing critical end-to-end expertise on all Compliance Risks including Anti-Money Laundering, International Trade Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Data Protection, Conduct Risk, Conflict of Interest, Inside Trading and others relating to Swiss Re's Corporate Solutions business. In addition to supporting typical compliance topics, we are also engaged in business strategic initiatives aimed at growing our business in a compliant manner. 

 

You will report into the Head of Compliance CorSo based in Switzerland and work closely with the CEO of CorSo UK. We also work closely with Compliance Officers serving other business units as well as other group functions to drive collaboration and effectiveness of our services. 

 

About You

 

You are a self-starter and can work both independently and seamlessly in a team environment. You are detail oriented, can effectively prioritise, demonstrate strong communication skills across different levels, and have a firm understanding of governance frameworks and controls.

 

•    University or equivalent qualification/experience 
•    Minimum 5 years compliance experience, preferably within the UK insurance sector, preference for prior SMF 16 experience 
•    Strong practical knowledge of FCA/PRA compliance requirements
•    Solid understanding of compliance control processes and systems #LI-Hybrid
