As a member of the Cyber Security Operation Centre Monitoring and Response team you will play a vital role in responding to security threats on BT and commercial networks across the globe. Responsible for timely and appropriate action related to reactive or proactive cyber events and incident investigation. So, no more counting down the clock.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for managing and coaching several people within a small shift team.
  • Responsible for escalated events/incidents from customers or the team.
  • People management and be a technical point of escalation.
  • Monitor, analyse and defend against malicious or unusual activity that could be indicative of a security incident or compromise.
  • Using innovative technology and a strong set of process and playbooks.
  • Writing and reviewing processes/documentation.
  • Analysis and recommendations of any determined cyber threats to BT and our commercial customers.
  • Work across the organisation, typically with incident response teams to ensure security issues are addressed quickly upon discovery.
  • Be a customer liaison during events/incidents showing empathy, ownership, and speedy response.
  • Quality Checks.
  • Onboarding of new products and service.
  • Have a broad knowledge of multiple systems and process and be able to flex between BT and commercial customers.
  • Working in a 24x7 Cyber Security Operations Centre (CySOC).
  • Support and maintain the CySOCs ISO 27001 certification.

You’ll need:

  • Experience leading and coaching a team of technology professionals.
  • Have knowledge and experience of SIEM and/or End Point detection technologies.
  • Possess a recognised formal qualification in Cyber Security.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Have a strong attention to detail.
  • Be organised and able to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Use your initiative and be comfortable working with changing requirements.
  • Be commercially aware.
  • Have an enquiring mind, thirst for knowledge and willingness to learn.
  • Must achieve and maintain Security Clearance.

 

You might even:

  • Have experience working within a Cyber Security Operations Centre.
  • Have experience of continuous improvement or transformation projects.
  • Have CompTIA Network+, Security+, CSA+, SSCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a customer facing environment.
  • Have knowledge and hands on experience of IP networks and their key components.
