Job Description

As a Strategic Cloud Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic direction to clients in adopting and optimising cloud technologies to meet their business objectives. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs, assess their current infrastructure, and develop tailored cloud strategies that drive innovation, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Strategic Cloud Consulting is a newly formed capability as part of our Cloud practice and these initial roles will have the opportunity to shape the offerings, approaches and consulting methodologies we provide to our customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers to understand their business objectives, technical challenges, and application modernisation needs.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of customer legacy applications, identifying opportunities for modernisation and optimisation.
• Develop tailored application modernisation strategies that align with customer business goals, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Design cloud-native architectures and solutions for modernised applications, leveraging microservices, containers, serverless computing, and other cloud-native technologies.
• Define migration strategies and roadmaps for transitioning legacy applications to cloud-native environments, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum value.
• Integrate modernised applications into DevOps pipelines, enabling automated deployment, monitoring, and continuous delivery practices.
• Implement containerization and orchestration solutions (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to containerise and manage modernised applications at scale.
• Design and implement API management strategies to expose and manage APIs for modernised applications, enabling seamless integration and interoperability.
• Ensure the security and compliance of modernised applications by implementing best practices for identity and access management, encryption, and compliance monitoring.
• Provide training and guidance to client teams on cloud-native technologies and best practices for application modernisation, fostering internal capabilities and knowledge transfer.

Skills / Experience:

• Experience leading conversations with customers at a high and low level
• Proficiency in modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience and strong understanding in Azure, AWS, GCP and Private Cloud 
• Expert understanding cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, as well as cloud-native services such as containers, serverless computing, and microservices architecture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Including a strong  ability to create positive and professional business relationships with partners and customer stakeholders

Qualifications

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable
